I grew up in Winchester, Massachusetts, taught elementary school for years and then went to Art School (Rhode Island School of Design) to study art. I worked for Hallmark Cards in KC, MO for years and then moved back to New England. Having finally settled on Cape Cod, I work with two Galleries and do commission work out of my studio in Harwich

Watercolor, as hard as it is, is my favorite medium. The water, the combinations, the look, keep me choosing this medium. I also paint in oils quite often which I love too. Oils lend themselves to plein air painting much more readily than watercolor, so I really enjoy being outdoors and in the moment.

I love Nature, Landscapes , Flowers and People. I try to get goosebumps about something to paint every day.

My Inspiration
I now live on Cape Cod and am finding so many special spots of color to paint. I drive, walk, kayak and boat to see the wonderful light that is here near the ocean. It inspires me to paint when I am outdoors especially. I am excited when I see children playing on the sand, or I see a beautiful sunset over the ocean . I have to paint what I see. So light is important to me…and color.
